Agates Acres strives to build a deep community who cultivates and strengthens the connection between land, people, and food.

Agate Acres was established in 2020 and is managed by Emily Richey and Kyle Cook. Emily grew up in Duluth on her family's hobby farm. She has farmed on and off since 2012 in New England and MN. She worked for 5+ years in the non profit world and even found herself building and owning an outdoor gear retail store. She is a natural networker and her entrepreneurial spirit drives her. The 2019 season Kyle and Emily had the opportunity to manage their first CSA operation together. Kyle grew up in Seattle, and has lived in Arizona, California, and Oregon. He is a veteran of the USCG, which brought him to Duluth in 2015. He is mechanically minded and has spent time working as a beer brewer, bike mechanic, carpenter, and deck hand on tug boats. When we are not farming or hosting events we love to canoe in the BWCA, work to strengthen our NE MN farming community, ski & snowboard, bike, and explore the beautiful world around us.

We would also like to introduce you to Margaret Hart. She is Kyle's mom. She is an integral part of the farm and co-owner of the property. We are deeply grateful for her support of making this farm and events business come to fruition.
